The Black Tie or Blue Jeans fundraiser has once again come and gone and the metaperformers of Shadowbox Live would like to thank the community for their gracious support of this annual gala event.

As Shadowbox Live is a non-profit, 501-C-3 company, its ensemble members rely on the revenue from patron attendance, food and drink sales and from fundraising events such as Black Tie or Blue Jeans to keep their doors open. These funds allow them to continue performing the high-caliber entertainment that the people of Columbus have come to expect.

But, on Wednesday night, Shadowbox Live Executive Producer and CEO Stev Guyer revealed plans for some very special programs for 2011 that fundraising efforts will help bring to fruition.

Guyer and Shadowbox Live's Director of Community Relations Stacie Boord welcomed special guests Gerard Charles (Artistic Director, BalletMet), Charlotte Belland (Chair of Animation, CCAD), and Steven Anderson (Artistic Director, CATCO/Phoenix) to unveil unique collaborations planned for 2011.

The speakers were interviewed briefly throughout the event giving the 120-person audience a sneak peek at the projects.

Surrounding the interviews Guyer and Boord, and auctioneer Peter Gehres led the audience through three sections of live and silent bidding. Packages such as get-aways to Chicago, New York, Cleveland, Put-In-Bay and Las Vegas drew high bids, and smaller packages with a focus on local activities were battled over by the enthusiastic bidders.

Drawing one of the highest bids of the evening was the ever popular "Cook-Out With Klein", the winner of which receives a meal prepared by metaperformer Julie Klein accompanied by several Shadowbox Live ensemble members of his or her choice.

"I'm so flattered that my cookout has become a commodity for our fundraiser," smiled Klein.

All in all, the Black Tie or Blue Jeans fundraiser raised over $32, 000.

"I'm very thankful for the support that was showed on Wednesday night," said Guyer. "I'm blown away, in fact! It's reassuring to know that the community appreciates what we bring to the table and that they want us to produce more special projects."

Shadowbox Live is sponsored by Costume Specialists, Courtyard Marriott Columbus Airport location, Crawford Communities, Cup O Joe, Dr. Robert Lowe, Family Physicians of Gahanna, Genesis Audio, Outlook, Professional Eye Care Associates, The Team, WCBE.

Shadowbox Live is the largest resident theater company in America, producing over 400 shows per year.

A non-profit 501c3 performance troupe, Shadowbox Live employs 60+ full time ensemble members immersed in the shadowbox live philosophy of "everyone does everything," including arts administration.

These Shadowbox Live metaperformers self-produce a wide range of shows, as well as run the company on a day-to-day basis.

For over 20 years this creative team has produced world-class performances, spanning the artistic spectrum from sketch comedy to rock ‘n ‘roll, original rock operas and traditional musicals to drama, dance theater to new media; always putting emphasis on the unparalleled live experience.
