Three popular movie titles and the story behind a music icon will come to life on stage this season, as Playhouse Square brings four new shows to E.J. Thomas Hall as part of the 2023-2024 Broadway in Akron Series.
Cleveland Play House will present an urgent, strikingly relevant take on the classic Greek play, Antigone. Freely adapted by Emily Mann from the play by Sophocles, the epic tragedy runs March 5 – 27, 2022 in the Outcalt Theatre at Playhouse Square.
Cleveland Play House presents its final virtual play for the 2020/21 theatrical season, Blackademics, a dark comedy written by Idris Goodwin. This raucous satire about two college professors navigating success and racism as Black women features Northeast Ohio actors, Mariah Burks, Colleen Longshaw, and Lisa Marie Schueller.
The incredible cast of Cleveland Play House's box-office hit CLUE: A New Comedy will reunite in a hilarious musical broadcast to perform their favorite showtunes from Broadway musicals. Join CPH on Saturday, October 10 at 7:30 pm for CLUEbaret: A Comedic Musical Cabaret, a raucous night of singing, laughs, and hijinks.
