HOTT Productions, NFP-Helping Others Through Theatre in collaboration with the Hoffman Estates Park District announces the Tony Award-nominated musical XANADU!  This warm, campy, fun musical about following your dreams took audiences and critics by surprise when it transformed a cult classic movie, starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, into the hottest comedy on Broadway.

XANADU will be coming to the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct. Schaumburg, IL.

XANADU will be performed SEPTEMBER 26TH AND 27TH at 7:30 pm and SEPTEMBER 28TH at 2:00 pm.

Reserved Tickets are $25.00 for adults and children 10 & over and $23.00 for adults 65 + and children 9 and under. Live music and free parking enhance your theater experience. Tickets are available online at helpingothersthroughtheatre.seatyourself.biz.

XANADU is written by Douglas Carter Beane, the music and lyrics were written by Jeff Lynne of the mega-hit group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and John Farrar, writer of such songs as ‘Have You Never Been Mellow’ and ‘You’re the One That I Want,’ chart-toppers for Newton-John. Several ELO songs are in the show’s score, including ‘All Over the World,’ ‘Strange Magic,’ and ‘Evil Woman.’

XANADU follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous muse sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Xanadu’ reflects the social cultures and trends at the time, combining the styles, music, and camp essence of the ’80s, one of the most eccentric eras in history. It was originally panned by the public and critics, but over time it has become a cult classic! Enjoy the little campy time capsule that this show is!

Whether you are a longtime fan of the 1980 film-turned-musical or new to its roller-disco magic, “Xanadu” promises an unforgettable night of fun, laughter and heart.
