Red Line Jazz Project is a public arts initiative from Mandala South Asian Performing Arts, curated by jazz musician and Artist-in-Residence Fareed Haque, bringing free live music to Chicago Red Line L stations and community spaces from May through October 2026. Local jazz musicians and ensembles perform short live sets that blend jazz improvisation with global musical influences, reflecting Chicago's musical heritage and its diverse neighborhoods. The Pottawattomie Park performance takes place on May 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. and features artists including Butter Chicken Brass Band, Ugochi Nwaogwugwu, Renee C. Baker of AACM, and Luciano Antonio, among others.
