The Chicago Shakespeare Theater will join forces with the world-renowned Colla Marionette Company to produce an all-marionette version of Macbeth at the New Victory Theater, running April 20-29 at the The New Victory Theater (209 West 42nd Street).  Shakespeare's arguably most notorious show will be acted out by intricately designed three-foot tall marionettes, manipulated by expert puppeteers and voiced by CST actors in full view of the audience.

According to press notes, "Macbeth's battle scenes will be filled with armies of horses and soldiers, fog and bats. The witches' cauldron will steam and Banquo's ghost will ooze blood.

This abridged version the Scottish play is one of the most unique adaptations of to come around in some time, with the expertly created stage set and characters reflecting the creators' dedication to the show. The Colla Marionette Company, one of the leading Marionette-making companies since its inception in 1835, and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, one of America's fastest growing Shakespeare Theaters, have come up with a production which is faithful to the play yet seen through a new vision."
