Olivia O, The Musical will present a Concert Reading at the Theatre on the Verge Festival of New Musicals on Saturday March 23, 2024!
The performance will begin at 6:30 pm at the beautiful Abington Art Center in Jenkintown, PA.
With a Book and Lyrics by Diane Currie Sam and Jessica Carmona, Original Music Composed and arranged by Gil Yaron, Musical Direction by Guilherme Andreas. The musical tells the story of 14 year old Olivia, a migrant child from Guatemala who gets separated from her mother at the US-Mexican Border and tries to reunite with her family in El Paso, Texas.
Her aunt, Isabel works with her community of activists and friends to find her niece. As they navigate the complicated and messy web of the US Immigration system, they learn the power and strength that they have when they come together with love, determination and faith for a common goal. They learn that no one can stop them when they have love and community on their side.
The cast is made up of primarily Latine Actors and Singers, and Directed by Latina Director Jennica Carmona.
