Monsters of the American Cinema is a two-person drama by Christian St. Croix, directed by Tony Speciale, receiving its regional premiere at Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill, New York. After inheriting a drive-in movie theater and becoming guardian to his late husband's teenage son, Remy, a Black gay man, forms a fragile bond with Pup over their shared love of classic horror films. Set over four days in a Southern California trailer park, the play blends humor with emotional tension as real-world behavior begins to mirror the violence and fear of the movies they watch. The production explores questions of identity, masculinity, grief, and accountability in Bridge Street Theatre's intimate 84-seat venue.
