Step into the haunted mind of Edgar Allan Poe in El Dorado – A Musical Portrait of Edgar Allan Poe, a one-night-only theatrical concert blending literature, original music, and dramatic storytelling. Presented in the intimate Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, this immersive performance reimagines Poe’s most iconic poems—including The Raven, Annabel Lee, and Lenore—through a bold, emotional lens.
Adapted from the original musical Edgar Visited by award-winning composer Phyto Stratis, with orchestrations by Broadway’s Kim Scharnberg, El Dorado paints a vivid psychological portrait of the literary icon.
The cast features Broadway tenor Dan Hoy (The Pirates of Penzance) as Poe, with Mark Ryan Anderson (baritone), Ariadne Anna (soprano), and Hilary Baboukis (mezzo-soprano) embodying the spectral figures of Poe’s imagination.
