CRT Downtown Sets December Events

Cortland Repertory Theatre is announcing upcoming events for December and the holiday season at the new "CRT Downtown", located at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland.

On Saturday, December 5, CRT will host A DAY WITH SANTA in which families are invited to have their Christmas card photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their "Winter Wonderland Workshop", created in CRT's downtown theatre. Santa will be "in town" from 10:00 - 12:00 and 2:00 - 4:00 that day. Each photo arrangement is $5.00, and once taken they will be emailed to the purchaser to print out or use in e-cards. Santa will also be happy to visit with children (or adults!) without having a photo taken. Light refreshments will be available and Christmas ornaments will be available for purchase to support CRT. Kids or families, singles or couples, all are welcome!

The following Saturday, December 12, the theatre will present a THE CRT CHRISTMAS CABARET. Stars of the CRT summer stage will be back in town to perform holiday classic songs and stories, and will lead sing-a-longs with the audience. Actors from this summer's productions of "Suds", "1776", "The Addams Family" and "Always a Bridesmaid" will entertain in this fun, festive and relaxing evening of "holiday spirit". Tickets are $10.00 per person, children under 12 are free. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

On December 31, Cortland Rep will host their first community-wide New Year's Eve dance, called DANCIN' THRU THE DECADES. The downtown theatre will turn into a huge dance floor and starting at 8:00 PM, hit dance songs from the 1950's thru today will be played, with a different decade every hour. The 50's and 60's will play from 8:00 - 9:00, with the 70's from 9:00 - 10:00, and the 80's from 10:00 - 11:00. Then from 11:00 - 12:30, a "Mega-Mix" of all the decades through today will be available to boogie on down! Admission is $10.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door. Refreshments and a beer/wine cash bar will be available.

CRT also has spring events planned which will be announced soon. The theatre's 45th Anniversary summer season which will be held at the Little York Pavilion, will also be announced soon.
