Fort Caspar Museum is hosting an exhibit from the American Heritage Center in Laramie entitled "Home Front on the Frontier: Wyoming During World War I." It will be on view through September 9, 2018.

From the beginning of American involvement in World War I in April of 1917 to the aftermath of the war some two years later, the country hummed with activity. Citizens were strongly encouraged to support the war effort by buying war bonds, growing victory gardens, and attending patriotic meetings. Factories, mines, and farms produced the goods necessary-as the people saw it then-to preserve democracy. All of these efforts were coordinated by the federal government, exercising powers never used before in American history. The purpose of this exhibit is to examine facets of life on the home front in Wyoming.

Fort Caspar Museum's summer hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, and admission prices are $4.00 for adults; $3.00 for youth (ages 13-18 years) and seniors (ages 62 years and up); and free for children (12 years and younger) and for Museum members. For questions and additional information, please call the Museum at 307-235-8462 or go to our website http://www.fortcasparwyoming.com. Fort Caspar Museum is located at 4001 Fort Caspar Road.
