Camp Cody

Camp Cody is a coed traditional overnight camp on the shores of Ossipee Lake in Freedom, New Hampshire, established in 1926 and run by third-generation owners. Campers are grouped by age into Pioneers (7-9), Juniors (10-11), Inters (12-13) and Seniors (14-15), with a Teen Leadership program for counselors-in-training and junior counselors ages 16-17. Activities include land sports, waterfront programs, creative and performing arts, out-of-camp adventure trips and a range of electives. Optional add-ons carry separate fees and include an equestrian program, private tennis and golf lessons, scuba diving, crew, and math, reading and ESL tutoring. Two-week and four-week sessions are offered, though the camp recommends at least four weeks for first-time campers. Tuition is otherwise all-inclusive, with laundry handled weekly and daily photos posted for families; bus and airport transportation from New York, Connecticut and Boston is available for an added fee.

Age divisions: Pioneers 7-9, Juniors 10-11, Inters 12-13, Seniors 14-15, Teen Leadership (CIT/JC) 16-17. $750 deposit per session; at least four weeks recommended for first-time campers.
