Myriam Phiro, a french-Canadian chanteuse whos garnered accolades both as a Jazz singer and as a cabaret performer, returns to Birdland with her critically acclaimed Tribute to Edith Piaf, her greatest inspiration!

Ms. Phiro is thrilled to escort audiences on a journey through the fascinating and decadent world of Edith Piaf after a year-long hiatus due to Covid. For this occasion, the vocalist will be accompanied by Ms. Hyuna Park (piano & accordion) and Elias Bailey (upright bass), her long standing trio.

Following sold out performances at Birdland and Joes Pub, as well as great demand for her most recent album Phiro chante Piaf, the evening will feature select songs from the album, captivating untold stories about the icon and special guests including grammy-award winner Linus Wyrsch on the clarinet. By using Piaf's timeless songs to retell the life of the icon, as well as a selection of other well known French numbers, Ms Phiro is sure to dazzle and entice audiences by recreating the atmosphere of the Parisian nightclubs and cabarets of yesteryear we've all been dreaming of.

Reviews of the show:

"Myriam Phiro has created a sonorous and elucidating homage to Edith Piafs enduring voice and devout faith in love. With a sultry voice, Myriam draws her audiences in with warm smiles, a caressed microphone, and occasionally closed eyes to offer a heart-rending tribute in homage to the works and truth of the little sparrow. The show offers an intimate affair with Myriam as both elucidating narrator and songbird, and a trio of talented musicians, sharing beautiful renditions of Edith's work."
-Sharon M. Chin, The Creative Sanctum.

"Ms. Phiro has a warm personality and immediately made the audience feel at home. Ms. Phiro has a charming warm soprano voice that filled the space beautifully. Although she sings in the Piaf style she does not try to imitate Piafs voice. Ms. Phiro always found the right atmosphere for each song. The cabaret that Ms. Phiro put together was delightful and she and her musicians received great applause when the show ended. I hope that Ms. Phiro will continue to present these wonderful cabaret performances."
-Ellen Godfrey, Voce Di Meche

About Myriam Phiro:

"Myriam Phiros voice translates the tones of an era and the emotions that go with it. With the chosen songs, she embodies the perfect re-enactment of a mix between Edith Piaf and Marilyn Monroe; deep, powerful, fun and sexy all at once."
-Miguel Dominguez; NYC Culture/Style
