The SFJAZZ Collective, under the artistic direction of saxophonist Chris Potter, brings together a rotating supergroup dedicated to performing fresh arrangements of works by modern masters alongside newly commissioned pieces. Current members include Mike Rodriguez on trumpet, Kendrick Scott on drums, Matt Brewer on bass, David Sanchez on saxophone, Warren Wolff on vibraphone, and Edward Simon on piano. Departing from their usual single-composer focus, this engagement celebrates the 10th season of the SFJAZZ Center, drawing on the wide range of material the ensemble has explored over the years, from timeless classics to original compositions. With over 100 new arrangements and original works in their repertoire, the Collective continues to honor jazz's greatest figures while pushing the music forward.
