Fresh from the extraordinary international success of Operation Mincemeat, Olivier Award-winning composer, lyricist and librettist Felix Hagan makes a special one-night-only appearance at Birdland on Monday, September 7 at 9:30pm. This very special event will take place instead of the regularly scheduled “Jim Caruso’s Cast Party.”
One of the most original and exhilarating musical voices working in theatre today, Hagan is the co-creator of the international phenomenon Operation Mincemeat, winner of the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and a two-time Tony Award nominee. Now, Birdland audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience the man behind the music in an intimate evening of songs, stories, humor and surprises.
Blurring the boundaries between musical theatre, jazz, rock and cabaret, Hagan brings the full range of his musical life to the Birdland stage. The evening will feature selections from his acclaimed theatrical work, personal favorites, unexpected reinterpretations, and songs from his years touring internationally with Felix Hagan & The Family.
With his fearless musical imagination, razor-sharp wit and gift for storytelling, Hagan has built a body of work that is at once wildly theatrical and deeply personal. Beyond Operation Mincemeat, he is currently developing new works for the stage and composing music for an upcoming feature film.
