Peacock’s record-breaking most-watched original series Ted has been renewed for a second season. In this comedic prequel event series to the Ted films, it's 1993, and Ted the bear’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham).
The HBO Original documentary Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes, will debut Saturday, August 3rd on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. The film will have its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes offers an unprecedented exploration into the life of Elizabeth Taylor, Hollywood’s quintessential star.
The first film has a tentative title of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum and will be directed by the Gollum actor, who will also reprise his iconic role from the earlier installments. The film is planned for a 2026 release, with the team already in the early stages of development on the screenplay. Peter Jackson will also return to the franchise as producer alongside Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
SiriusXM has announced the launch of “Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes),” a new original podcast hosted by the Emmy Award-winning actors and friends. Premiering June 12, the podcast will see Ted and Woody reconnect 30 years after the end of their acclaimed sitcom “Cheers,” joined by a plethora of exciting guests.

Netflix has announced that the comedy special Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn will premiere globally on June 4, 2024. The special was filmed at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY in November 2023. This marks Koy’s fifth special with Netflix, following Live From The Los Angeles Forum (2022), Comin’ In Hot (2019), and Live From Seattle (2017), in addition to his variety special In His Elements (2020).

According to Deadline, Harry Lawtey, an actor who will next appear in Joker: Folie A Deux, has been cast as Tony-Award-winning actor Richard Burton in an upcoming film that will center on the actor as a young man. Lawtey will appear alongside Toby Jones and Lesley Manville in the film.
According to Variety, Tony-Award-nominated actor Jeremy Strong may be appearing alongside Jeremy Allen White in the upcoming biopic of Bruce Springsteen. In the film, the Enemy of the People star would play Jon Landau, the longtime manager of Springsteen (White). Strong is currently starring in the Broadway play, for which he was nominated for his first Tony Award.
A new comedy from NBC’s The Office adapter Greg Daniels and Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman has been picked up to series at Peacock. The Untitled Daniels/Koman project is a new mockumentary series set in the same universe as NBC’s Emmy Award-winning hit series The Office.
