k.d. lang's Performance at the Majestic Theatre to be Filmed for PBS Great Performance Series

After kicking off the second leg of her North American Ingénue Redux tour in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, k.d. lang announced today that her concert at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX on Friday, September 21 at 8PM will be filmed for Landmarks Live In Concert as a part of PBS's GREAT PERFORMANCES Series. Landmarks Live In Concert is hosted by Chad Smith and produced by City Drive Films.

The tour is in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her GRAMMY®-award winning, critically acclaimed album Ingénue, which will bring a live performance of the platinum-selling record to venues across the United States. Fans in cities such as Dallas, NASHVILLE and San Antonio can experience the album live, performed in its entirety.

"The Majestic Theatre in San Antonio has always been one of my favorite venues to perform in, so I chose it specifically to film my Ingénue Redux tour," said lang.

She most recently announced the addition of guitar virtuoso, Mak Grgi?, to THE LINEUP as her opening act on all dates.

As part of this tour, lang will perform songs from Ingénue - including the GRAMMY®-award winning hit "Constant craving" - along with hits from her 2004 album Hymns of the 49th Parallel.

This tour follows the release of a re-packaged, re-mastered Anniversary edition of "Ingénue," released by Nonesuch last year. The two-disc set includes eight previously unreleased live performances from lang's 1993 MTV Unplugged episode, recorded in New York City's famed Ed Sullivan Theater.

After first appearing on stage as the cowgirl with the golden voice, she went on to become the crooner who sang "Constant Craving" and also achieved much success interpreting other artists' songs. Some of her most memorable recordings are the (now-iconic) rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Neil Young's "Helpless," and her collaboration with Tony Bennett on their 2002 Wonderful World duets album and successful co-headlining concert tour. He says of lang: "She's the best singer of her generation."

Branching out into uncharted territory isn't foreign to lang. In 2014, she guest-starred in the hit TV show Portlandia. In 2015, the Alberta Ballet staged an original performance piece called Balletlujah!, based on the life and music of lang. More recently, lang collaborated with indie icon Neko Case and respected folk singer/songwriter Laura Veirs to write and record the album case/lang/veirs, which was released in June 2016.

lang has won four GRAMMY® awards, eight Juno Awards, a BRIT, an AMA, a VMA, and four awards from GLAAD. In 1996, she received Canada's highest civilian honor, the Order of Canada and in 2013, she was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards. She has appeared alongside such musical luminaries as Roy Orbison, Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, Loretta Lynn, and Tony Bennett.
