Vision Films, a worldwide distributor of independent feature films, documentaries and music programming, has announced today that it has picked up worldwide sales rights and will be releasing domestically in the US and Canada the award winning COMEDY WARRIORS: Healing Through Humor, directed by John Wager, produced by Rey Reo and John Wager, and executive produced by Steven Beer.

One of Vision Films' mandates for domestic distribution is to release theatrical documentaries that inspire and elevate social consciousness while promoting health and wellness. COMEDY WARRIORS fits nicely into Vision Films impressive line-up of documentaries including Sharon Stone's and Emmanuel Itier's FEMME: WOMEN HEALING THE WORLD, BEAUTY & THE BREAST a compelling insight into the reality of breast cancer, and FINDING HAPPINESS a film in which an investigative reporter leans that when you change, everything changes.

Lise Romanoff, Managing Director/CEO of Vision Films, said "COMEDY WARRORS is a powerful documentary film that beautifully illustrates how laughter is truly the best medicine. It will make you laugh, it will entertain you, it will leave you with a greater appreciation of the resilient spirit of these courageous solders on their quest to get back on their feet.

Five severely wounded Iraq/Afghanistan veterans are given the opportunity to explore their experiences through the healing power of humor. This film follows their journey as they work with professional comedy writers, and A-List comedians: Zach Galifianakis (THE HANGOVER), Bob Saget (THAT'S WHAT I'M TAKING ABOUT - Showtime), B.J. Novak (THE OFFICE), and Lewis Black (LEWIS BLACK'S ROOT OF ALL EVIL), who help them write and perform their own personal stand-up comedy routines. This exciting venture gives them new comedic perspectives from which to view their injuries and their lives, and culminates in one big night performing at LA's top comedy clubs.

COMEDY WARRIORS has been a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization and is supported by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a national, non-partisan organization whose mission is to honor and empower injured service members. WWP's purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service men and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and service to meet their needs.
