The latest news concerning the newest X-MEN film is that X-MEN veterans Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will likely not be appearing in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Watch this interview below with Stewart in which he says, "It is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don't think we'll be making an appearance."

The film "will have more of the mass destruction that 'X-Men' films, to date, have not relied upon...there's definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle," director Brian Singer previously said of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.

The film hits theaters on May 27, 2016.

The previous X-MEN film, 'DAYS OF FUTURE PAST,' starred Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender,James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Lucas Till and Evan Jonigkeit.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change The Past - to save our future.
