New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" last night in the popular recurring segment "Slow Jam the News," backed by house band The Roots. The segment comes on the heels of Christie's announcement to hold a special election in October following U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg's death. Check out the appearance below!

Named "the most enjoyable late-night show" by the New York Times, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" has become the go-to destination for comedy, music and A-list talent. Emmy and Grammy Award winner Jimmy Fallon brings a fun new energy to the NBC comedy-talk franchise with his personalized interview style, love of audience participation, spot-on impersonations and innovative sketches. The show consistently garners attention for viral videos, audience games and prominent guests such as Tom Cruise, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Gwyneth Paltrow and Justin Timberlake. Fallon's choice of house band, Grammy Award winners The Roots, has been universally praised.

In just four years on the air, Fallon and the "Late Night" team have already begun collecting awards. Most recently, Fallon was honored with his second consecutive People's Choice Award for Favorite Late Night Host (2012 and 2013) and the show received the 2012 Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Talk Show. Also in 2012, "Late Night" was celebrated with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Series.
