VIDEO: Lin-Manuel Miranda Helps Mom Find Oscar Dress on RACHAEL RAY!
When Lin-Manuel Miranda takes his mom, Luz, as his date to the Oscars this Sunday, he'll be fulfilling a promise years in the making. The HAMILTON creator stopped by this week's Rachel Ray to share, "I remember my mom - as a kid - saying, 'When you get nominated for an Oscar, I'm your date.' That's such a pie in the sky thing to say. But she sort of always believed, I think she believed even before I did, so I'm thrilled to get to keep that promise."
One problem - she didn't have a dress yet! So Rachel Ray enlisted the help of Stacy London, who guided Luz in selecting the perfect dress for the occasion - one that will reflect her elegant style sensibilities.
Lin's reaction to his mom's classic look: "The only awkward part will be when people come up to you and say 'congrats on your nomination for Jackie.' Because she looks stunning!" And Luz said the dress makes her feel like Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn rolled into one. Watch the clip below!
