Billy Crystal sat down with TODAY's Matt Lauer for an exclusive interview this morning and revealed that paying tribute to his longtime friend Robin Williams at this year's Emmy Awards was one of the most difficult things he ever had to do.

"He's my closest friend, and to do it with some humor and only in a short period of time that I had to do it was difficult," the comedian and actor told Lauer, adding, "It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do," comparing it to being "the spokesman for everybody in front of 17 million people."
