On last night's JEOPARDY, host Alex Trebek called contestant Susan Cole a 'loser' after she revealed she was a fan of nerdcore, a genre of hip-hop dedicated to geek culture.
Asked by the host to explain the unusual musical genre, Cole shared, "It's people who identify as nerdy, rapping about the things they love - video games, Science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners. It's really catchy and fun." Responded Trebek, "Losers, in other words?"
The comment quickly hit the Twitterverse, as nerdcore fans and supporters of the legislation librarian from Bowie, Maryland slammed Trebek for his insulting comment. Watch the clip below:
