Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken wrote original songs for last night's episode of the ABC comedy THE NEIGHBORS. In the episode titled "Sing Like a Larry Bird", after seeing a Broadway musical, alien Larry decides to create one of his own. Check out the show's wacky take on Broadway below!

Menken is best known for his scores for films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. His scores for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas have each won him two Academy Awards. He also composed the scores for The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Home on the Range, The Shaggy Dog, Enchanted, and most recently, Tangled. Menken has collaborated on several occasions with lyricists including Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, Glenn Slater, Judy Rothman, and Stephen Schwartz.

With eight Academy Award wins (four each for Best Original Score and Best Original Song), Menken is the second most Oscarised winner in a music category after AlfrEd Newman, who has nine Oscars.

"The Neighbors" stars Jami Gertz as Debbie Weaver, Lenny Venito as Marty Weaver, Simon Templeman as Larry Bird, Toks Olagundoye as Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Clara Mamet as Amber Weaver, TIM JO as Reggie Jackson, Ian Patrick as Dick Butkus, MAX CHARLES as Max Weaver and ISABELLA CRAMP as Abby Weaver.

"Sing Like a Larry Bird" was written by Tracy Oliver and directed by John Fortenberry.
