ABC's THE VIEW celebrated its 4,000th episode today. The daytime talker debuted on August 11, 1997.

Original 'View' host and show creator Barbara Walters returned as a guest host, along with former co-host Joy Behar and guests Mad Men's Elisabeth Mossand Mario Cantone.

"We wouldn't be here but for you," co-host Whoopi Goldberg told Walters as a large cake and a bottle of champagne was wheeled out on stage. Check out the clip below!

About The Show

"The View," is a live, one-hour daily talk show from ABC (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET) featuring moderator Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace. It is the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. "The View," broadcast in HDTV and produced in 2-channel stereo sound, is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on ABC.com. "The View" is owned and produced by ABC. Bill Wolff is executive producer. Brian Balthazar is co-executive producer. "The View" is directed by Ashley S. Gorman.

"The View," recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day. The program has received critical acclaim since premiering August 11, 1997. It's broadcast live weekdays from New York City (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET; CLOSED-CAPTIONED; broadcast in stereo; TV-14).
