Univision Digital and Grabyo announced a partnership today to power all of the broadcaster's live and near-live social and digital video content. Grabyo's cloud-based video-editing and live production platform will enable Univision to better connect millions of fans with broadcast-quality content across web and mobile devices.

At a time when social networks are the go-to medium for breaking news, Univision understands that it must deliver the most important stories and highlights to consumers accurately, efficiently and in high fidelity. Grabyo's Studio and Producer products will be employed across all of Univision's digital teams - News, Sports, and Entertainment - to create and distribute the most relevant video content quickly and efficiently, without having to engage the broadcast studio teams and equipment. Ultimately, this speed to market, and focus on social channels, leads to a broader set of engaged viewers on mobile devices for Univision's live news coverage & highlights.

"Univision is pleased to partner with Grabyo to expand our social and digital video content offering ," said Juan Convers, Vice President, Business Development at Univision. "Through this partnership, Univision continues to drive innovation in digital broadcasting and meet the demands of our audience. Live video is an important part of our strategy across all multi-platforms, especially for breaking news."

Recent coverage of natural disasters and the political news, have propelled Univision News to one of its most successful quarters yet:

  • Became first network to broadcast on Facebook Live during the aftermath of the Mexico City earthquake, generating over 13 million views from viewers worldwide
  • Generated breaking news clips that have more than 50 million views monthly, reaching more than 300 million users on Facebook
  • For Hurricane's Harvey, Irma, & Maria, generated over 40 million views of live storm coverage and disaster relief efforts
  • Produced 200 live broadcasts per month across Facebook and Youtube - with more than 20 live streams in the last quarter reaching 1 million views

"Grabyo is thrilled to have joined forces with Univision to bring its award-winning, live news coverage to a broader audience on social platforms," adds Mike Kelley, President of Grabyo Americas. "We're proud to be working with Univision to engage millions of Hispanic viewers in the US and beyond, and we look forward to building on our work with the news team, to also include sports and entertainment programming."

The Univision partnership is just the latest example of Grabyo's expansion into live news & entertainment coverage from their traditional sports expertise. Grabyo was also recently chosen by Buzzfeed to power its new Twitter Live show, "AM2DM," with over one million young, digital savvy viewers tuning in daily.

Grabyo's current clients include: Buzzfeed, Universal Music, Major League Soccer, beIN sports, Big Ten Network, USA Rugby, BT Sport, The Premier League, LaLiga, AELTC Wimbledon, FC Barcelona, & Chelsea FC.
