Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announced today the launch of "An American Story," a new exclusive nationally Syndicated show featuring renowned television journalist and author Tom Brokaw.

Brokaw's daily 'An American Story' segments will feature a wide range of topics - from newsworthy current events to historic figures to notable moments in history - which impact the lives of Americans today. Beginning Monday, November 4, 2013, "An American Story" will air weekdays, three times daily on select Clear Channel stations nationwide.

"There are few public figures as respected as Tom Brokaw, one of the most trusted journalists in America. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to bring his insights and perspectives to our listeners across the country," said Tom Schurr, President of Major Markets for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment.

"I am grateful to Clear Channel for the opportunity to offer observations on the dynamic changes in America as well as the lessons from our past. Radio is where I began and it's good to add it once again to my television duties," said Tom Brokaw.

Brokaw is an American television journalist best known as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004. He also is the author of The Greatest Generation and other books as well as the recipient of numerous honors, including the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award, the Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement, and he was inducted as a fellow into the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In addition, Brokaw has received the Records of Achievement Award from The Foundation for the National Archives; the Association of the U.S. Army honored him with their highest award, the George Catlett Marshall Medal, first ever to a journalist; and he was the recipient of the West Point Sylvanus Thayer Award, in recognition of devoted service to bringing exclusive interviews and stories to public attention. Brokaw is the only person to host all three major NBC News programs: The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, and, briefly, Meet the Press. He now serves as a Special Correspondent for NBC News and works on documentaries for other outlets.
