The Weinstein Company to Develop THE HOUR OF PERIL Miniseries

The Weinstein Company is bringing Daniel Stashower's nonfiction book The Hour OF PERIL to television.

According to Variety, TWC has landed the TV rights to the piece, which follows the detective Allan Pinkerton working to prevent the assassination of President-Elect Abraham Lincoln Pre-Civil War, the help of America's first female private eye, Kate Warne. A miniseries format is being planned.

"Daniel Stashower's The Hour OF PERIL is an untold and landmark moment in American history," Meryl Poster, President of TV at The Weinstein Company, said today in a statement. "With the suspense and fervor of a crime thriller, which will make for immensely captivating television."
