The Emmys Deliver NBC's Best Monday Ratings, Excluding Live News & Sports, Since 2015

Here are "Emmy" results from the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen. Keep in mind that time zone-adjusted "fast-official" nationals are expected later today, while the 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET fast-affiliate ratings will NOT be time zone-adjusted, nor include viewers of encore telecasts in the West, and will significantly understate "Emmy" ratings.

NBC's telecast of "The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards," hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che (7.4 rating, 13 share in households in the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research, Raleigh-Durham currently excluded):

Delivers NBC's top-rated Monday in the metered markets, excluding live news and sports, since Dec. 14, 2015 (8.4 with "The Voice" and "Adele Live in New York City").

Nearly triples the night's #2 broadcast network (7.4 vs. 2.5 for #2 CBS).

Tops the combined household ratings of CBS (2.5), FOX (1.8) and ABC (1.7) by +23% (7.4 vs. a combined 6.0).

Jumps +80% over NBC's season average in the timeslot for the current 52-week season to date excluding sports (7.4 vs. 4.1).

The year-ago Emmy telecast averaged an 8.2 rating in metered-market households on CBS Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017.

For context, note that this year's Academy Awards were down year to year by -16% in metered-market households (18.0 vs. 21.4) and the GRAMMY AWARDS were down by -20% (12.7 vs. 15.9).

Note that fast-affiliate ratings (due at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET) are not time zone-adjusted and will be unreliable for the live "Emmys" telecast. Accurate time zone-adjusted "fast official" nationals are expected later today.
