The Carney Awards Embark On Exclusive Broadcast Partnership With Cozi TV

The Carney Awards announced today that NBCUniversal's Cozi TV will serve as the exclusive broadcast partner for the 2017 Carney Awards. The partnership marks the first time that The Carney Awards will be broadcast in homes throughout the country. The Awards will be broadcast on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 9:00pm EST.

"We love having Cozi TV as our broadcast partner for the Carney Awards. From day one, they understood not just the importance of recognizing character actors, but our vision for producing an awards show that was uniquely smart and fun," Elvis Duran, Executive Producer of The Carney Awards, said.

"On behalf of my family and The Carney Awards, I want to thank NBC/UNI and COZI-TV for shining a spotlight on Hollywood's most UNSUNG heroes - the character actors. We see and love them every day, and it is time we get to know them up close and personal. It was my father's vision to bring these wonderful talents into the national spotlight. The Carney Awards will do just that," Brian Carney, Art Carney's son, said about the partnership.

"COZI TV is thrilled to be the exclusive broadcast partner for the 2017 Carney Awards, recognizing the most outstanding character actors on television," said Meredith McGinn, Senior Vice President, Cozi TV and LX.TV Productions. "The addition of the Carney Awards reflects COZI TV's commitment to adding new, original content for our loyal viewers and further expanding our broadcast lineup which includes many of television's most beloved and iconic programming such as Will & Grace, Frasier, Columbo and many others."

As previously announced, this year's class of exemplary honorees includes favorites of stage and screen William H. Macy, Wendie Malick, William Fichtner, Richard Kind and Xander Berkeley. ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" host Tom Bergeron will host the evening with additional TV and film favorites presenting the Awards (to be announced at a later date). The broadcast will be taped at an invite-only ceremony on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA.

Named in honor of the late, great Oscar and six-time Emmy winning actor Art Carney, the Carney Awards were created by Elvis Duran Group CEO David Katz, his brother Jim Katz, an Emmy Award winning producer, and Brian Carney, actor/voice-over artist and Art's son. The Carney Awards is a joint production between The Elvis Duran Group and Radcliffe Road Pictures. National radio personality Elvis Duran, the Katz brothers and Carney are executive producers.

Now in its third year, The Carney Awards honors Hollywood's leading character actors each year for their outstanding achievements in character acting. Past honorees include Gary Cole, Stephen Tobolowsky, Dan Hedaya, Conchata Ferrell, Steve Buscemi, Bob Balaban, Michael Ealy, Bruce McGill, David Paymer, CCH Pounder and Jonathan Banks.
