The CW Orders THE FLASH, iZOMBIE, THE MESSENGERS & JANE THE VIRGIN to Series

The CW has announced its slate of new dramas for the 2014-15 season.

According to Deadline, the network has picked up ARROW spin-off THE FLASH, starring Grant Gustin, Rob Thomas' iZOMBIE, JANE THE VIRGIN, and Eoghan O'Donnell's THE MESSENGERS.

In FLASH, hrough a freak accident, scientist Barry Allen is given the power of super SPEED that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive, in THE FLASH.

THE FLASH, from Warner Bros. Television and based upon characters published by DC Comics, is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter (all of Arrow). Nutter is directing from a script by Berlanti & Kreisberg & DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

iZOMBIE is based on Chris Roberson and Michael Allred's characters and story from the original comic series. It follows a med student who turns into a zombie and uses her job at the coroner's office to eat brains. The catch: Each brain she eats allows her to absorb the corpse's memories, which makes her invaluable to the medical examiner in helping to solve homicide cases.

JANE THE VIRGIN, written by Jennie Snyder Urman, centers on a good, religious girl who is accidentally artificially inseminated.

THE MESSENGERS, hailing from TEEN WOLF's Eoghan O'Donnell. VanSanten joins the previously announced Sofia Black-D'Elia, Joel Courtney, Son of God's Diogo Morgado and Jon Fletcher. The project centers on a mysterious object that crashes down to Earth and a group of seemingly unconnected strangers who die from the energy pulse. They then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending apocalypse.
