Telemundo announced its first-ever social media influencer summit, dubbed #YoSoyelInfluencer, as part of the highly-anticipated reality series, "Yo Soy El Arista" ("I am the Artist"), premiering Sunday, September 14 at 8 pm/7c. The Reality Show will air simultaneously in the U.S. on Telemundo and throughout Latin America on the cable networks E! and Telemundo Internacional. In addition, the network announced that music sensation Austin Mahone will join the panel of 100 celebrated influencers who will help decide if the contestants will face the judges and the show's host to advance past the audition round.

The show's 100 social media influencers were selected from Latin America and the United States to be a part of the audition process based on their impact and following on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Vine. Designed to actively engage the panel of influencers, the summit will Leverage the unique expertise of those assembled as well as create a unique opportunity for dialogue on a wide variety of trends and issues in emerging media.

The summit, to be held September 3-4 at Universal Studios Florida during taping of the two-day audition process, is organized in partnership with LatinWe, owners of the #1 Hispanic Youtube channel. It will be anchored by morning panels and sessions on a wide range of relevant topics, from navigating intellectual property rights to practical insights on how to monetize social networks. Featured guest speakers include top social media celebrities, executives from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, as well as Telemundo personalities, recording artists and more.

"These young social media stars will play a crucial role in determining who will take home the top prize and potentially become the world's next great performing artist," said Peter Blacker, Executive Vice President of Digital and Emerging Business, Telemundo. "In return, we wanted to develop a first of its kind summit, gathering all of these voices together, providing an inspiring forum that could assist them in advancing their own careers and enhancing their already-impressive online profiles."

Mahone, who boasts over 6.5 million Twitter followers and kicked off his summer tour last month, joins the illustrious list of previously announced influencers, whose social videos and posts on topics as varied as food, music, technology, popular culture and fashion have earned them a seat at the event. Also among the group of influencers is YuYa Mariand Castrejon, who reaches over 200 million followers on her combined social media platforms.

Telemundo and Reset TV of Spain joined forces to own, develop, produce and internationally distribute this reality series and its format based on an original concept from the founders of Reset TV, Toni Cruz and Josep Maria Mainat, creators of the successful entertainment formats as "The Martian Chronicles" and "Mira Quién Baila Idol," among others.
