Telemundo to Air Eye-Opening Special BATALLA EN LA FRONTERA, 12/13

Noticias Telemundo presents the special program BATALLA EN LA FRONTERA, hosted by award-winning journalists María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart, Sunday, December 13 at 6PM/5C, a revealing exposé of the methods and practices used by US Customs and Border Protection produced in collaboration with MSNBC and the non-profit Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR).

"Batalla en la Frontera" is the result of a rigorous investigation of the controversial US border patrol service, also known as the "green machine" for its alleged excesses and explosive growth since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This hard-hitting special features exclusive interviews with current and retired US and Mexican government officials, including US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske, who offers candid testimony and pledges to RECTIFY the mistakes made by previous administrations.

Among the abuses of authority revealed in this Noticias Telemundo investigative special is the notorious case of Esteban Manzanares, an agent who kidnapped and assaulted two Central American immigrants, sexually abused a third and then committed suicide. For the first time, "Batalla en la Frontera" also takes viewers inside the US Customs and Border Protection Advanced Training Facility in West Virginia, offering a look at the cutting-edge technology the service uses to enforce security along the border.
