Deadline reports exclusively that Adam Levine may be turning in his revolving chair on NBC's THE VOICE to become part of the cast of the comedy feature THE CLAPPER. According to the report, the Maroon 5 frontman will join previously announced cast members Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried, Tracy Morgan, Leah Remini, Russell Peters, P.J. Byrne and Mickey Gouch, Jr. and Brenda Vaccaro on the project.

Adapted by writer/director's Dito Montiel own book of the same name, the story follows "a professional clapper for infomercials named Eddie Krumble who gets plucked by a late night talk show host to be on his TV show. The notoriety that his 15 minutes of fame brings ends up costing him his job as well as a budding relationship with a girl who works at a gas station."

Levine will portray Ralph Ranter, described as "the suave film producer who runs the late night Jayme Stillerman (Peters) show which is inadvertently responsible for tearing apart Krumble's (Helms) life."
