CBS Television Distribution (CTD) has renewed the first-run syndicated strip EXCUSED for a second season, it was announced today by Joe DiSalvo, President of Sales for CTD.

"When EXCUSED premiered last fall, it marked the return of the dating genre to syndication," DiSalvo said. "Stations have found it to be a great alternative to off-network sitcoms in their late fringe and access time periods."

The half-hour dating strip airs in the top three markets on WWOR-TV, New York (Fox); KCAL-TV, Los Angeles (CBS); and WCIU-TV, Chicago (Weigel).

Hosted by Iliza Shlesinger, the first female and youngest winner of "Last Comic Standing," EXCUSED debuted on September 12, 2011. Each episode follows a New Group of men competing for the affections of two women (or vice versa). Based on first impressions, profiles and intimate dates, Shlesinger guides the pair of women as they systematically eliminate the group of men down to one. The final man standing then has the opportunity to select the woman he wants to date. Ultimately, one final couple has the chance for love.

EXCUSED is produced by Renegade 83 Entertainment, best known for its hit syndicated dating show "Blind Date," and executive produced by David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe.
