On the heels of Sundance Channel's recent unscripted breakout series "The Writers' Room" and "Dream School," the network announced today its next original non-fiction series "Loredana, ESQ." The 6-episode hour long series traces the life of Loredana Nesci, a former LAPD officer turned lawyer as she navigates the twists and turns of the criminal defense system and grapples with the question: What is legal and what is right? The announcement was made today by Nena Rodrigue, SVP Original Programming and Production, Sundance Channel. The series, which is currently in production, is slated to premiere in March 2014.

Nena Rodrigue stated, "This dramatic new unscripted series explores our contemporary legal system through the lens of Loredana Nesci, a cop turned defense attorney who is anything but what people expect. We think audiences will soak up the behind-the-scenes world of criminal defense."

After earning a reputation for herself as a legal crusader, Loredana Nesci cultivated a thriving law practice where she defends those who sorely need it - not hardened criminals, just regular people, some of whom may have made bad choices and find themselves judged and condemned. This series dives into one defense attorney's unconventional and potent passion for discovering the truth and doing what she thinks needs to be done.

The series is produced for Sundance Channel by Nicole Defusco and Jon Grosskopf. It is produced for Go Go Luckey by Julie Auerbach (Executive Producer), Henry Capanna (Executive Producer), Tina Gazzerro (Executive Producer), Sandy Guthrie (Executive Producer), Laura Keats (Executive Producer) and Robert Misseri (Executive Producer).
