The Ten Tenors are returning to the United States this December, for an 18-date tour of the East Coast and Midwest. The Australian vocal group, whose voices generate "pure electricity and undeniable drama" according to the Los Angeles Times, will be performing repertoire from their album Our Christmas Wish, which went to the upper reaches of Billboard's Classical Albums chart. Partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the release raises funds for the organization that is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The Meistersingers of Southern Lehigh High School will serve as an opening act for the evening.

The TEN Tenors: Home for the Holidays comes to the State Theatre on Thursday, December 7. Show time is 7:30. Tickets are $47/$42 and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. Selections from Our Christmas Wish include traditional standards such as "Joy to the World" and "O Holy Night," as well as John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)," "Feliz Navidad" by José Feliciano, Irving Berlin's "White Christmas", and "All I Want For Christmas Is You," the Maria Carey hit that's become a holiday evergreen.

Now enjoying their 20th year together, The Ten Tenors playfully blend rock, pop and opera, and are "truly incandescent when performing at the full strength of 10," according to Variety. The New York Times says their "unique mix of the traditional and unconventional offers a fresh and highly-original take on the staid traditions of opera." TTT have appeared on The Today Show, Oprah's Australian Adventure and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, among others. More than 90 million people worldwide have attended their live performances, and they have shared stages with Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Andrea Boccelli, Willie Nelson, Alanis Morissette and Christina Aguilera.

The Meistersingers of Southern Lehigh High School is the auditioned choral ensemble of the high school music program. One of the oldest activities/organizations of any type in the school district, the Meistersingers are a pride of the community. The ensemble consists of approximately 30 young men and women who look to further their musicianship in by a more in-depth study of choral music. The demands and expectations of this ensemble are more than the typical high school choir and culminate in a performance schedule of nearly 20 concerts per year. The group performs within the Southern Lehigh communities of Center Valley and Coopersburg as well as the broader Lehigh Valley. The group has also toured internationally as recently as 2010 in Ireland and Scotland.
