Shakira and Maluma Top Nominees for Latin American Music Awards; Full List Announced

Telemundo announced today the list of nominees for the third annual "Latin American Music Awards" (Latin AMAs). Shakira topped the list with nine nominations, followed closely by Maluma with eight, while Daddy Yankee, Enrique Iglesias, Luis Fonsi, Nicky Jam, Prince Royce and Romeo Santos garnered five each. Produced by Telemundo and Somos Productions, the event will broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA, at 9pm/8c on Thursday, October 26, 2017, featuring special performances by artists relevant to Latinos, regardless of language. The awards ceremony will be preceded by the fashionable red carpet pre-show "La Alfombra de Latin AMAs" at 8pm/7c.

Starting today, until 4pm ET/3c on October 17 fans from the United States and Puerto Rico are able to place their vote online at www.LatinAMAs.com/vota, and fans worldwide can vote via Twitter.

World renowned Colombian singer Shakira earned the most nominations this year with nine including the coveted Artist of the Year. She is also nominated for Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock. Her album "El Dorado" vies for Album of the Year and Favorite Album - Pop/Rock. Shakira's collaboration with Prince Royce "Deja Vu" competes for Song of the Year and Favorite Song - Tropical. "Chantaje," Shakira's song featuring Maluma, earned each artist three nominations including Song of the Year, Favorite Song - Pop/Rock and Favorite Collaboration.

Urban music singer Maluma received eight nominations including the three aforementioned. He is also nominated for Artist of the Year and Favorite Artist - Urban. His song "Felices Los 4" is up for Song of the Year and Favorite Song - Urban. Lastly, Maluma's collaboration with Ricky Martin "Vente Pa'Ca" is nominated for Favorite Song - Pop/Rock.

Artists with five nominations include: Daddy Yankee, nominated for Artist of the Year and Favorite Artist - Urban; his record breaking collaboration with Luis Fonsi featuring Justin Bieber, "Despacito" is up for Song of the Year, Favorite Song - Pop/Rock and Favorite Collaboration. Luis Fonsi also competes for Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock. Enrique Iglesias is nominated for Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock. His song "Súbeme La Radio," featuring Descemer Bueno and Zion & Lennox, is up for Song of the Year, Favorite Song - Pop/Rock and Favorite Collaboration. Nicky Jam competes for Artist of the Year and Favorite Artist - Urban; his song "El Amante" vies for Song of the Year and Favorite Song - Urban. Nicky Jam's album "Fenix" is nominated for Favorite Album - Urban. Prince Royce competes for Favorite Artist - Tropical; his album "Five" is up for Album of the Year and Favorite Album - Tropical. Prince Royce also received three nominations with Shakira, previously mentioned. Romeo Santos is up for Artist of the Year and Favorite Artist - Tropical; his song "Imitadora" competes for Favorite Song - Tropical while his album "Golden" vies for Album of the Year and Favorite Album - Tropical.

Artists nominated for four awards include: Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, CNCO, J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Zion & Lennox. Those with three nominations include: Calibre 50, Christian Nodal, Descemer Bueno and Wisin. Artists with two nominations include: Gente de Zona, Gerardo Ortiz, Juan Gabriel, Los Plebes Del Rancho De Ariel Camacho and Ulices Chaidez y Sus Plebes. The "Latin AMAs" honor artists in the genres of Pop/Rock, Regional Mexican, Urban, and Tropical, as well as categories for Favorite Crossover Artist, Favorite Collaboration, New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, among others. The "Latin AMAs" nominees are based on key fan interactions with music, including, but not limited to, sales, airplay, streaming and social activity tracked by Billboard through its data partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.
