Sgt. First Class Cory Remsburg Set for CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY Tonight

By:

Sgt. First Class Cory Remsburg, the wounded Army Ranger honored by President Barack Obama during his State of the Union address, sits down with CBS News Pentagon and National Security Correspondent David Martin for his first network television interview. The report will be broadcast tonight, Feb. 5 on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

In tonight's report, Remsburg discusses his recovery from a roadside bomb explosion that left him blind in one eye, partially paralyzed and his speech slurred. It happened in 2009 near Kandahar, Afghanistan, during Remsburg's tenth deployment.

"In a perfect world, I'd do it all again," Remsburg says of his service to the country. "I'd go back if they let me."

During last week's State of the Union address, Remsburg received the longest standing OVATION anyone can remember.

"Here was this opportunity when everyone could agree on one thing, and that one thing was this wounded warrior in the balcony," Remsburg's father, Craig, tells Martin.

Patricia Shevlin is the Executive Producer of the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY.
