According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ricky Martin will serve as a coach on the Australian edition of THE VOICE when the competition returns for its second season. He will take over the role from Keith Urban, who recently joined the judge's panel of AMERICAN IDOL's Season 12. THE VOICE is Australia's top-rated TV program.

The international recording artist will join fellow Voice coaches Seal, Joel Madden and Delta Goodrem for the upcoming 2013 season of the show. Martin shared the news on his Twitter account posting, "Sending some mad love to everyone in #Australia! Cant wait to go back! Peace!"

Michael Healy, director of television on the Nine network on which the show airs stated, “Ricky Martin is one of the world’s biggest stars. He brings huge experience to our panel of coaches, which he’ll pass on to our Australian Voice artists in 2013. Most of all, we think he’s the perfect addition."

Martin, known for such hits as "Livin' la Vida Loca," has sold over 60 million albums worldwide. He currently stars in the role of 'Che' in the Broadway revival of 'Evita.' It was announced this week that Martin, along with co-stars Elena Roger and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris, will depart the production in January.
