Rick Springfield to Guest Star on TV Land's HOT IN CLEVELAND

As first reported by TVGuide.com, singer Rick Springfield will be guest starring on an upcoming episode of TV Land's hit comedy series HOT IN CLEVELAND. The actor, who played Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime soap opera 'General Hospital', will appear on the show sometime this summer. 

Springfield, who had a huge hit in the 1980's with the song, 'Jessie's Girl', will play himself but in disguise as a man named Tom, in order to live a more secluded life in Cleveland. When he becomes enthralled with Joy, played by actress Jane Leeves, he reveals his true identity, which sends Joy over the moon. Unfortunately, Joy soon learns that Springfield is not quite the sexy rock star that she thought he was. 

Rick Springfield's debut single, "Speak To The Sky", was major pop hit and reach No. 14 on the Billboard charts. His debut album Beginnings was the first of seven Top 40 hits. His 1981 album, Working Class Dog, remarkably successful with the Top 10 hits "Jessie's Girl" and "I've Done Everything For". The single "Jessie's Girl" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts and ultimately achieved great success worldwide.

He continued to do well with his albums Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet (1982) and Living in Oz(1983). He continued to release albums throughout the 1980, 90s, and into the new albums and released his last Billboard 200 album in 2008. Venus in Overdrive (2008) peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Charts.
