Reese Witherspoon to Exec. Produce EXPECTATIONS, Modern-Take on Dickens' Novel

The CW has picked up a pilot of a historical proportions: EXPECTATIONS, a modern take on Charles Dickens' canonical novel, Great Expectations, is set to be executive produced by Hollywood starlet Reese Witherspoon.

EXPECTATIONS follows a small-town little lady with huge dreams and a tiny budget, who moves to San Francisco, where her dreams crash back to reality - that is, until she receives an influx of cash from an anonymous benefactor.

CBS TV Studios, Television 360, Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea's recently created Pacific Standard are all signed on to produce.
