Super Channel, Canada's only national English pay television network, and Toronto based New Metric Media, in partnership with DHX Media, are pleased to announce that production is currently underway in Sudbury, Ontario on the Super Channel original series, WHAT WOULD SAL DO?.

Dylan Taylor (Rogue, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, Covert Affairs, Slasher) stars as entitled underachiever, Sal, who for the first time in his life, is challenged to be a good person when he discovers he's the Second Coming of Christ. The modern day parable set in Sudbury, also stars Jennifer Dale (Of Unknown Origin, The Adjuster, Suzanne) as Maria, Sal's mother, a virgin and devoted catholic, Ryan McDonald (Fringe, 2012) as Vince, Sal's best friend and Scott Thompson (Hannibal, The Kids in the Hall) as the career driven Father Luke, Maria's friend and confidant. Kaniehtiio Horn (Hemlock Grove) will recur as Sal's love interest.

The eight-episode, half-hour series, which will air on Super Channel in spring 2016, began shooting in Sudbury on August 10, 2015 with production slated to end on September 15.

"We are very excited to have production underway on WHAT WOULD SAL DO? and to see this unique and hilarious series come to life with this incredible cast," said Julie Di Cresce, Director of Canadian Programming for Super Channel.

"With amazing talent in front of and behind the camera, and a healthy dose of Catholic guilt, we're thrilled to HIT THE FLOOR on WHAT WOULD SAL DO?" said Mark Montefiore, Executive Producer for New Metric Media. "The local parish in Sudbury offering a groupon for crew confessions once we're done is a bonus."

WHAT WOULD SAL DO? is written, created and Executive Produced by Andrew De Angelis (Mr. D, Fugget About It) and directed by Samir Rehem (Skins, Degrassi: The Next Generation). Additional writers include Kurt Smeaton, Mark Forward, Alex Levine, Mark DeAngelis and Brandy Hewitt. Executive Producers for New Metric Media are Mark Montefiore and Patrick O'Sullivan. The series is produced by New Metric Media, in partnership with DHX Media in association with Super Channel, and with the participation of the Canadian Media Fund and Ontario and Federal Tax Credits.
