'Princess & The Frog,' 'Precious' & 'An Education' Recognized with Producers Guild Award Noms.

This morning, the Producers Guild announced its nominees for the 21st annual PGA Awards, including the 10 nominees up for the prestigious Producers Guild Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year award. The award, now in its 21st year, honors producers of the standout film of the season. Among the nominees are the producers of An Education starring Carey Mulligan, Lee Daniels and colleagues for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, and Peter Del Vecho for The Princess and the Frig starring Broadway's Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Cody.

In the past, the PGA film award is a reliable indicator for the Academy Award for best picture. Last year's PGA winner, Slumdog Millionaire, went on to capture Oscar's top prize. 13 PGA winners over the past two decades have gone on to win the Academy Award for best feature.

The awards will be given on January 24 at the Hollywood Palladium.
