Parker Posey makes her first Special Guest Appearance in the hit SHOWTIME comedy series THE BIG C beginning Monday, August 22nd at 10:30p et/pt playing Poppy, a wacky, eccentric older woman who Adam (Gabriel Basso) meets online in a cancer support group for teens. A series of comic adventures bond the unconventional duo and distract Adam from his mother's illness. But Poppy's bizarre antics leave Cathy (series star and executive producer Laura Linney) cautious about her son's new May-December friendship...

Posey starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Hurlyburly (Lortel Award) and Fifth of July (Lortel nominated). Her stage credits include Broadway's Taller Than a Dwarf, Geffen Playhouse's Four Dogs and a Bone, TV's "As the World Turns," "Tales of the City," "Hell on Heels: the Battle of Mary Kay" (Golden Globe nomination) and the films "The Daytrippers," "The House of Yes," "Clockwatchers," "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show" and "A Mighty Wind." She has been deemed "Queen of the Indies" for her extensive independent film resume.
