PRINCESS DIANA: THE MUSICAL Buys Ads on TLC Network
JMR Productions today announced they have purchased 7 ads on the TLC network promoting that the songs from the Princess Diana the Musical CD are available for free downloading by visiting JMRProductions.com in tribute to Princess Diana.
The musical is in the middle of a successful ongoing national run in 11 American cities this year. Also, the wedding song in the show, "One of England's Moments", will be sent to radio stations to play.
"In spite of our communications with Christopher Ashely the Tony Award winner director, an agent for Joe DiPetrio who co-wrote 2 newspapers articles and various webs mentions, there is still no retraction of their comments that we do not exist. In addition their first claim that they are headed for Broadway was not confirmed by Christopher in a subsequent interview with him. Our ads will run right after the TLC promo for their documentary "Princess Diana - Tradegy or Freedom" explains Karen Sokolof Javitch the shows co-writer. "This year marks the 20th anniversary of her passing and there is currently no other musical being performed in the U.S. about Princess Diana. With the recent TV shows profiling her life, these 11 theaters around the country have chosen Princess Diana the Musical, distributed by JMR Productions of Omaha, Ne to be part of the national commemoration. Javitch added, "Like millions of people in the world, I was devastated when Princess Diana died. Writing this musical has been our way of paying homage to Diana's life and sharing her message of hope and compassion with new generations. Many feel this musical about Princess Diana would make a wonderful production for Broadway and the writers are pursuing that option.
Karen Sokolof Javitch wrote the music and lyrics and Elaine Jabenis co-authored the book with Karen in 1998. The touching story journeys in song with the "People's Princess" on her trials and tribulations of being an unknown 17-year old to becoming the most famous woman in the world. With over 25 original songs, Princess Diana the Musical captures the grace, charm, compassion and style that was Diana.
