Ophelia Lovibond Set to Recur on New Season of CBS's ELEMENTARY
Ophelia Lovibond is set to recur on Elementary in the series' upcoming third season as famed detective Sherlock Holmes' new protégé, Kitty Winter. Her character will first appear during the drama's season premiere, Thursday, Oct. 30 (10:01-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The role marks Lovibond's U.S. television debut.
Kitty Winter is Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) new apprentice in New York who immediately becomes rivals with her predecessor, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). Kitty's reasons for undertaking Holmes' partnership are nebulous, and her new arrangement with Sherlock will have ongoing repercussions for his relationship with Joan.
Ophelia Lovibond made her acting debut in the UK sitcom "The Wilsons." She recently appeared in "Mr. Sloane," the British six-part television comedy series written and directed by Robert B. Weide ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"). Her additional UK television credits include "Loving You," "Single," "Nathan Barley," "Messiah," "Delta Forever," "FM," "The Poison Tree" and the 12-part drama "Titanic: Blood and Steel."
In 2005, Lovibond made her feature film debut in Roman Polanski's adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens tale "Oliver Twist." Her additional film credits include the 2014 urban comedy "Eight Minutes Idle," Sam Taylor Johnson's "Nowhere Boy," "London Boulevard," alongside Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley, "188.8.131.52," "No Strings Attached," opposite Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, and "Mr. Popper's Penguins," opposite Jim Carrey. Lovibond will next be seen in Marvel's superhero motion picture "Guardians of the Galaxy," due out this summer.
ELEMENTARY stars Jonny Lee Miller, Lucy Liu, Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill. Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman and Craig Sweeny serve as executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios.
