On this week's episode of ONCE UPON A TIME, we saw a different side of Elsa than ever before. Determined to find her sister, Elsa created a frozen wall surrounding the town, preventing anyone from coming in or out. Elsa was scared of what secrets the town might hold, for she discovered a necklace of Anna's in Rumpel's shop.

Emma, David, and Hook soon discover the ice wall, and Elsa along with it. Emma attempts to console Elsa, but before any progress can be made, a portion of the ice wall tumbles down, trapping the two girls within the ice wall. Luckily, Emma has a walkie-talkie with her, and is able to communicate with David and Hook. She attempts to convince Elsa to melt the ice wall, and Elsa refuses, threatening to freeze the whole town if her sister is not delivered to her. But after a while, Emma naturally begins to freeze to death, causing Elsa to panic. David swoops in to save the day by communicating with Elsa via walkie-talkie, explaining that he knew her sister once. The mention of Anna softens Elsa, sparking her to melt the ice wall and save Emma from freezing to death. David promises to aid Elsa in her quest to find her sister, believing Elsa is good at heart.

In a flashback to the Enchanted Forest, we see Anna meet David on his farm back in his shepherd days. Knowing David was a friend of Kristoff's, and Anna requests to stay the night on farm. During her stay, the evil and corrupt Bo Peep shows up, demanding David to repay the money he owes her. Bo Peep even threatens to make David her slave if the debt is not repaid. Anna is flustered by this exchange, and believes David should not let Bo Peep treat him so harshly. She offers to teach him the art of sword fighting, which she learned from her soldiers. While it takes David a bit to get the hang of using a sword, he soon masters the technique. When Bo Peep storms the farm once more, David is able to use his sword fighting skills to defeat her. He is extremely grateful to Anna, and feels he owes her for teaching him courage.

The episode closes a scene between Grumpy and a new character in an ice cream shop. It is quickly revealed that Elsa is not the only one in town with ice powers- the ice cream shop worker appears to be a snow queen! Will she threaten Elsa's magic in some way?

Unfortunately, we did not get to see a whole lot of Regina this episode. Early on, she sent a message to Henry via a raven, and instructed him to stay away from her. But in the closing moments of the episode, Henry payed a visit to her home and pronounced that he would not give up on her, even if she was giving up on herself. I was relieved that Henry checked in on Regina, because he is without a doubt Regina's rock. Henry keeps Regina's evil streaks at bay, and with the way she was acting in the previous episode, I was quite concerned about her having an evil relapse! But then again, her plans for seeking out the author of the 'Once Upon a Time' book are still in place, so we'll have to see what happens.

This week's episode taught us a lot about Elsa's character; we saw just how far she would go to see her family. Elsa doesn't seem quite 'evil', but her passion still comes across as dangerous nonetheless. I'm very curious to see how she handles the new ice queen for a number of reasons, especially since she has never met anyone with powers that resemble her own. But at the same time, the new ice queen definitely looks evil, so it's easy to assume that feud may grow between the two queens.

We also got to know Anna's character better as well. Her exchange with David proved her to be a courageous and trusting person, if not a little naive. However, judging from a short conversation with David's mother about visiting a sorcerer, I'm worried that Anna will soon be paying a visit to the one and only Rumpelstiltskin. As far as we know, Anna is currently missing, and it's not far-fetched to assume Rumpel had an impact on her disappearance. Does Anna's fate lie in the hands of The Dark One?

Bo Peep's character was an incredibly interesting addition to the Storybrooke community. She seems a bit more on the maniac side than on the evil side, which made her really, really scary to watch. A villain hasn't quite been established for this season, and I believe Bo Peep might be a worthy candidate. If it isn't her, it has to be the new ice queen!

In terms of acting, it's worth mentioning that the both actresses playing the Arendalle sisters portray their respective characters eerily like their counterparts in the animated film. Not only do Georgina Haig (Elsa) and Elizabeth Hail (Anna) strongly resemble the animated Elsa and Anna, but their speech patterns and overall voices almost identically match those of the Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell. Both are strong additions to the cast!

Will the Arendelle sisters ever be reunited? Find out on next week's ONCE UPON A TIME, 8pm EST Sundays on ABC!
