Nick Nolte Joins Cast of THE MANDALORIAN

Nick Nolte has joined the cast of "The Mandalorian, " according to Variety.

The upcoming "Star Wars" streaming series will also star Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano.

The details of Nolte's character are being kept under wraps.

Jon Favreau wrote the series, which is set after the fall of the EMPIRE and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney announced that Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the series. Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, "Dope's" Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow will direct additional episodes in the series. Favreau will also executive produce the show with Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.
