Last month, TMZ revealed that Richard Pryor's children weren't so happy with the news that Nick Cannon was in talks to portray their late father in Lee Daniels' upcoming biopic about the comedian.

But now the New York Post writes that Richard Pryor, Jr. spent some time speaking with the actor and has changed his tune.

"I am actually very excited about it now. He changed my mind by how he is delving into it," Pryor, Jr. told the Post. "He did the small thing of using his left hand instead of his right hand, he picked up smoking to try and emulate my dad, he's let his hair grow out...he's looking into who my dad really was, looking into his childhood, who he was raised by and around, and he is interested in talking to me about who my dad was."

Pryor, Jr.'s concerns are now centered around his father's wife and manager Jennifer Lee Pryor, who holds all the rights to Pryor's material and recordings. The couple was married twice, for the second time up until Pryor's death due to a heart attack in 2005. Pryor, Jr. has never been on the best terms with Jennifer; he and his lawyer recently sent her a letter asking to be consulted on the project as it moves forward.

Cannon, who starred in the original Drumline movie, will soon return in the TV movie sequel 'A New Beat'. He recently appeared on the small screen in 30 Rock and Up All Night.
