Networks Prempt Daytime Programming to Cover Boston Manhunt

As law enforcement searches the city of Boston and its surrounding areas this morning in a massive manhunt for a suspect beleived to be responsible for Monday's bombings, the major networks are prempting daytime programming to continue with coverage.

This morning, CBS announced that it will prempt its drama series Vegas tonight and instead air a CBS News primetime special, SPECIAL REPORT: BOSTON BOMBERS. Hosted by news anchor Scott Pelley, the show will air from 9:00-10:00 PM. Pelley will also anchor an extended, hour-long broadcast of the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH Scott Pelley (6:30-7:30 PM) tonight.

ABC will also have a one-hour expanded version of its ABC World News with Diane Sawyer as well as a special edition of 20/20, airing live from Boston at 10 PM. There will also be live coverage during the late night broadcast of Nightline.

Last night, police shot and killed 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev. His brother, 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev is still at large. The siblings are believed to be responsible for 3 deaths and over 170 injured at Monday's Boston Marathon. Much of Boston is on lockdown as police search the city for the suspect.
